Pure Digital Technologies Launches Flip Video™ Spotlight Program To Benefit Non-Profit Organizations Worldwide

January 07, 2008

At the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting in September 2007, Pure Digital Technologies announced a donor-matching program designed to put the power of video to work for nonprofit organizations worldwide.

The company's commitment is to distribute up to one million Flip Video Camcorders to these organizations over the next five years. Announced as the Flip Video Spotlight program, non-profit organizations and other qualified non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can now affordably use video as a tool to highlight the need for their services, better communicate with their donors, and broadcast their accomplishments to the world. Through the donor-matching program, Pure Digital donates one Flip Video camcorder for each camcorder purchased by a qualifying non-profit.

"We believe video can help change the world," said Jonathan Kaplan, Chairperson and CEO of Pure Digital Technologies. "Non-profit organizations do incredible everyday work that the public rarely sees. Imagine the impact that video would make if every on-the-ground staff member or volunteer had both a camcorder and the ability to broadcast their message to the world."

Kaplan said he was inspired to create the Flip Video Spotlight program after learning more about CGI and its work. He soon discovered that CGI and Pure Digital® shared a vision that video can help change the world by shining a spotlight on problems that need to be solved, opportunities that need to be seized, abuses that need to be corrected, and people who need to be extolled. Demonstrating its belief in the power of video, CGI purchased a Flip Video camcorder for each attendee of the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting September 26-28, 2007 in New York City.

Since December 2007, qualified nonprofits and NGOs  have had the opportunity to sign up to purchase Flip Video Spotlight Kits at http://www.FlipVideoSpotlight.com. Flip Video camcorders are easy-to-use and affordable devices with on-board software to enable editing, organizing, and video publishing through AOL, YouTube, MySpace, and other popular video sharing sites.
